.223 to 300 blackout
I am somewhat of a novice in the reloading world and from what I understand you can size .223 brass to 300 blackout. How would you go about doing this? I have the dies and trimmer for the blackout already, I'm just not sure how to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cut 223 brass just below the neck. Lube, re-size trim. You r done. You will also need something like this:

On mine, I removed the mini vise and replaced it with a fixture I fashioned out of wood to speed up the process.
You may want too anneal. I stopped doing, though. I don't think it is as critical as with 223Rem to have your brass annealed, plus it adds yet another step.

For those of us not quite adventurous you can go to blackoutbrass.com and get some super reformed brass for 12.5 cents a piece. I've reloaded a lot and it has worked out quite well. Call me lazy but happy!
Re: .223 to 300 blackout
I will do that soon, but for now I have close to 1,000 pieces of .223 brass.

Re: .223 to 300 blackout
Feel free to send me more brass bud, I'll take em. Seriously, around my part of town I used to could buy once fired .223 brass for a nickel a piece. This was only 3 months ago, and now he gets 20 cents each. I figure I'll buy a few dozen boxes of blackout and go have a blast, then reload those as well. Does anybody have any load data on Hornady projectiles?

Re: .223 to 300 blackout
I've been a pack rat for years and have kept all of my old, de-funked brass. This is the recycled brass I have been working with.
I did buy some commercial 300 AAC Blackout head stamped to use.
Anyway, I have been using this recycled brass to work out my loads and some of the cases have been loaded 15 to 20 times and are still going. I have annealed it from time to time. The point is that the 300 BlackOut is very easy on brass (my loads anyway).
The instructions listed above, just about cover the process.
Enjoy,
OSOK

You may also need to neck ream some of this brass. I have a case gauge for the brass, after sizing my brass if they don't fit I'll neck ream them and then resize (repeat if necessary). I'm guessing around 20% of the brass I've made I've had to do this to.
Re: .223 to 300 blackout
I would check compatibility of brass before cutting a large amount. For example, RP brass will not function in my rifle.
