The other bullets have to be loaded short to feed well with fully loaded magazines. The Sierra 125 was custom designed by me and Sierra to be loaded as long as 5.56mm ammo (2.230 is good, but no longer than 2.245).
I have been lurking here for several months gleaning information from the forums. I thank all for posting your results and experiences with the 300 blackout. This is my first post and question of what may be many in the future. Question-- how does the sierrra 125/ otm perform as a hunting bullet. I understand that it is a match bullet. I am looking for a reasonably priced hunting bullet in the weight range of 110 grains- 130 gr. with 16 inch carbine gas barrel.

thanks, 30 remmington

Not my first choice at all, for hunting.

Try Nosler 125 Ballistic Tips. At 300 Whisper/Blackout velocities it will work fine on small to medium sized game inside 200 yards.
