Was out with the chrono again today to test some new 9mm loads, so I took a few more 110 black tip 300 BLK rounds too ...cconn wrote:Strange how I am getting around 80 fps faster with the same loading and an 8" barrel. Then again my chronograph is not the best model out there.pgg wrote:I tested a few over the weekend. 110 TAC TX black tips, 9.5" barrel. Used the AAC brass from midway primed with Rem 7 1/2. 18.5 grains, 2062, 2055, 2060, 2058
18.7 grains, 2048, 2048, 2043, 2053, 2044
18.9 grains, 2083, 2091, 2083, 2104, 2113
19.1 grains, 2103, 2100, 2085, 2084, 2097
Later I will load some more with higher powder charges and chrono them.
18.5 gr - 1992, 1976, 1980 (avg 1,982.7)
19.0 gr - 2016, 2012, 2048 (avg 2,025.3)
19.2 gr - 2092, 2098, x (avg 2095.0 ... chrono err'd on one shot)
19.4 gr - 2123, 2118, 2107 (avg 2116.0)
More in line with your numbers. It was quite a bit hotter out today though ... about 95 degrees, compared to about 60 degrees when I shot the other loads. H110 isn't supposed to be temp sensitive, I thought?
Also tested some (barely) subsonic loads that would cycle my 9.5" core15 barrel without the suppressor:
Same 0x AAC 300 BLK brass with Rem 7 1/2 primers. A1680 powder.
208 amax (2.150 OAL) - 11.5 gr A1680 - 1107, 1086, 1126, 1115, 1135 (avg 1113.8 )
220 SMK (2.089 OAL) - 11.5 gr A1680 - 1090, 1061, 1024, 1060, x (avg 1058.8 )
Going to 11.3 with the 208 amax and see if it'll still cycle the gun. It wouldn't with 11.0 gr ...
208 amax (2.150 OAL) - 11.0 gr A1680 - 968, 1020, 1025 (avg 1004.3)
Heading out to Arizona for a conjugal visit with my suppressors and SBR lowers this week.
Shooting this upper on a California-compliant bullet-buttoned AR pistol lower is a lot less fun.
