Any chronograph figures on that load?
Was averaging around 980 fps, but that is when I had them at 2.210 not 2.220
Still pretty quiet though.

I'll see if I can borrow the chrony again in a couple of weeks and do it properly; 10 shot group through a chrony with screen to prevent any possibility of blast giving random figures.

Will hope to capture data for the lot to give the mean average.

OAL changes the FPS a lot. If I need to bring up a load a 10-20 fps I just seat deeper.

Thanks, I did get a few go a bit louder at 2.210 so tried a few loads at 9.4gr. These have proved to be okay, but end up with an occasional flyer.
Seating them out that tiny bit more (2.220 v 2.210) and back at 9.6gr seems to be working. I suspect that they may be a bit quicker than 980 but I'll try and get them tested around 25-29 April and post the results for you all to see.

208 amax with 10.3 gr of reloder 7 shoots great out of my 16 inch Noveske upper and my 16 inch MGM barrel for my TC Encore. I took John's advice and tried 19.5 gr of LIL'GUN behind the Barnes 300 AAC BLACKOUT 110gr TAC-TX FB bullet and it shoots great out of my Noveske upper. I get sub moa at a 100 yards with both loads. I have a Leupold 3.5x10 mark 4 on the Noveske upper and it helps me shoot good groups.

the saga continues... Today put Lilgun 7.8 behind 195 Hornady match and got 1070 on average with 2 five shot strings..........accuracy moa or slightly less. shooting through Schilling match 14.5 inches comparator at 2.446 for seating.
for my rifle, 10.2 A1680 working with 208 AMax so far with slightly sub-moa groups. chrono 1080
getting .452 groups with Barnes TSX-TX 110 grain using 19.3 H110, running 2350 average.
Thanks for the input....I'll keep on tryin'

Had a baffle strike with Hornaday 180gr SP's/10.4gr A1680/OAL 2.080 yesterday. Were running about 1050fps over the chrono when I got the strike. Phantom rang like a tuning fork so I think a baffle got knocked loose. No endcap strike though. Can is going back to YHM today. Shot 100 of them last weekend no problem. 2nd baffle looks out of place now. Bummer.

8" Ballistic Advantage Barrel, Phantom suppressor.

I tested a few over the weekend. 110 TAC TX black tips, 9.5" barrel. Used the AAC brass from midway primed with Rem 7 1/2. H110. 2.240 OAL.

19.0 gr - 2016, 2012, 2048 (avg 2,025.3)

certifiable wrote:I did more testing w/ IMR4198 and the 208 Amax and 225 BTHP.
10.5 I4198, 208 amax @ 2.220 w/ crimp = 1131fps wouldn't run the gun suppressed
10.0 I4198, 208 amax @ 2.220 w/ crimp = 1078fps wouldn't run gun suppressed
9.5 I4198, 208 amax @ 2.220 w/ crimp = 1014fps wouldn't run the gun suppressed
9.5 I4198, 208 amax @ 2.125 w/ crimp = 1042fps wouldn't run the gun suppressed

10.1 I4198, 208 amax @ 2.260 w/o crimp = 1048fps cycled the gun but no bolt lock suppressed
10.0 I4198, 225 bthp @ 2.220 w/o crimp = 1052fps cycled but didn't lock the bolt suppressed

I tested many other combinations w/ the I4198, H110 & RL7 with no better results. Being as I just had aquired a chrono every testing session started w/ a string of Rem & Hornady factory sub loads as a control. The hornady load functions the gun flawlessly @ 1095fps all 4 ways.
Hornady advised using A1680 as it was the closest thing a reloader could get to their "specially blended" powder.
After nearly 500 rounds tested the end result:
10.7 A1680, 208 amax @ 2.220 w/o crimp = 1072fps cycles gun flawlessly all 4 ways.
16" AAC AR barrel cabine gas, carbine "milspec" lower w/ JP hammer/trigger springs.
I have been messing around with xmp5744, A1680 and like you the 1680 is giving me the best cycling but dismal ES with bullets lighter than 190. Rl-7 is my next powder to try with the 208 Amax

Bad weekend at the range .. Baffle strikes, and horred results with my new 9mm upper. Wont feed and light primer strikes grrrrr

Strange how I am getting around 80 fps faster with the same loading and an 8" barrel. Then again my chronograph is not the best model out there.
