Hornady has 300 Whisper load data with H110 that you can use.

I did a bunch of shooting over the weekend trying to work up some decent subsonic loads for my Remington Model 7 with 16” barrel, and had some rather disappointing results. Out of 21 different loads (some so bad I didn’t even list them below), I came away with exactly 1 load that is in the velocity range I want with an acceptable velocity spread.

Having tried several of the loads listed in this thread, I am a little perplexed as to my own velocity readings which are significantly lower for a given powder charge than those listed by some of you. I suspect that I am shooting in cooler temps than most of you (60 degrees F) but I don’t know if that is significant enough to explain the lower velocities? I am also using a longer COL than would be used in an AR, however I don’t know if this extra case capacity is also a significant contributing factor for the lower velocities?

All loads below are with LC once fired brass, COL = 2.26, Rem 7 ½ primers, Hornady 225 grain match bullets. Velocity is the average of 5 shots. Chrono at 15 ft from muzzle. Sea level and 60 degrees F, No wind.

Unique 5.4 gr, 738 fps
Unique 5.6 gr, 775 fps
Unique 5.8 gr, 828 fps (208 fps extreme spread)
Unique 6.0 gr, 868 fps pierced primer on one round
Unique 6.2 gr, 967 fps pierced primer, sticky case. Overpressure load.
Reloader #7 10.4 gr, 869 fps
Reloader #7 10.6 gr, 884 fps
Reloader #7 10.8 gr, 932 fps
A1680 10.2 gr, 900 fps
A1680 10.4 gr, 936 fps
A1680 10.6 gr, 975 fps
IMR 4198 10.2 gr, 941 fps
IMR 4198 10.4 gr, 957 fps
IMR 4198 10.6 gr, 1007 fps
H4895 14.0 gr, 1044 fps (39 fps extreme spread) best load so far!
H4895 14.2 gr, 1076 fps

Unique has me pretty disappointed as I have lots of this powder, but at this point I will likely abandon it as being unusable for this cartridge. So far H4895 seems to be the way to go, and I will load up a bunch for accuracy testing. I might also bump up A1680 and IMR 4198 to see if I can get closer to 1050 fps. I did by a pound of VV N110 and am looking for starting data.

As always, any input or advice would be appreciated.

I have a wilson 16" 300 BLK.

I am needing the most accurate supersonic round. I understand every barrel likes its own load, but I just need some good starting points. I would like to be in the 130-155 grain realm, but am looking for good data to support using a bullet of this weight.

Help me out guys!!!

You want that weight because it is the most accurate? The best expansion? The least win drift? The most reliable feeding?

I really want that weight for hunting. I also shoot an AI in 308 that I shoot very well, so I have grown accustom to very good accuracy. I know I will not be able to have that degree of accuracy, but I would like something with a bit more weight than 110 grain (if it will shoot good), that will hold under an inch. As I have seen in many of your posts (and I completely agree), reliability is important. I have striped out the side ridge on my PMAGS, so I can load to full mag depth, if that helps you in answering my question. I am new to the 300 BLK, so maybe my desires are unrealistic. I hunt in Texas, and we have large deer, large hogs, and Elk on our place. I want the extra lead so I can take any of them if they present a good clean kill shot.

At the lower velocities of 300 AAC BLACKOUT, a 125 will go deeper than in 308. So if you are used to a 150 in 308, then you really want a 125 in 300 BLK to go the same depth.

Do you have any load data for a 125 grain bullet? Also, do you know of a 125 that will allow me to load to full mag length? I have always based my loading on keeping the bullet as close to the lands as possible to reduce jump. Maybe that doesn't hold true for 300 blk, as I have not seen any load date that shows oal to full mag length. I am guessing that is because of the mag ridge, but if that is removed, wouldn't it be best to load to full mag length?

The 125 grain Premere Match ammo shipping in two weeks is loaded to 2.245 OAL - which is what I consider full mag length.

We plan to sell these bullets for reloaders, but they are not hunting bullets.

We will also sell hunting bullets - they are in stock now but the packaging is not done yet. They are designed to be loaded to 2.130 - which is not full mag length, but not super short either.

If your goal is to just find the best hunting bullets for 300 AAC BLACKOUT - all things considered - those is the ones we will be selling soon. They were tuned for this velocity range.
