18.5 grains, 2062, 2055, 2060, 2058
18.7 grains, 2048, 2048, 2043, 2053, 2044
18.9 grains, 2083, 2091, 2083, 2104, 2113
19.1 grains, 2103, 2100, 2085, 2084, 2097

Later I will load some more with higher powder charges and chrono them.
I tested a few over the weekend. 110 TAC TX black tips, 9.5" barrel. Used the AAC brass from midway primed with Rem 7 1/2. H110. 2.240 OAL.

18.5 gr - 1992, 1976, 1980 (avg 1,982.7)
19.0 gr - 2016, 2012, 2048 (avg 2,025.3)
Strange how I am getting around 80 fps faster with the same loading and an 8" barrel. Then again my chronograph is not the best model out there.
Was out with the chrono again today to test some new 9mm loads, so I took a few more 110 black tip 300 BLK rounds too ...

19.2 gr - 2092, 2098, x (avg 2095.0 ... chrono err'd on one shot)
19.4 gr - 2123, 2118, 2107 (avg 2116.0)

More in line with your numbers. It was quite a bit hotter out today though ... about 95 degrees, compared to about 60 degrees when I shot the other loads. H110 isn't supposed to be temp sensitive, I thought?

Also tested some (barely) subsonic loads that would cycle my 9.5" core15 barrel without the suppressor:

Same 0x AAC 300 BLK brass with Rem 7 1/2 primers. A1680 powder.

208 amax (2.150 OAL) - 11.5 gr A1680 - 1107, 1086, 1126, 1115, 1135 (avg 1113.8 )
220 SMK (2.089 OAL) - 11.5 gr A1680 - 1090, 1061, 1024, 1060, x (avg 1058.8 )

Going to 11.3 with the 208 amax and see if it'll still cycle the gun. It wouldn't with 11.0 gr ...
208 amax (2.150 OAL) - 11.0 gr A1680 - 968, 1020, 1025 (avg 1004.3)

Heading out to Arizona for a conjugal visit with my suppressors and SBR lowers this week. 8)

Shooting this upper on a California-compliant bullet-buttoned AR pistol lower is a lot less fun.

Has anyone focused on Muzzle flash?
With night vision on my rifle for piggies I need loads with no muzzle flash.
Before I reinvent the wheel, I thought I would check to see if this had already been worked out.

With the relatively small amount of magnum pistol powder these things use I would think there is very little muzzle flash, especially with a longer barrel. Guess I'll shoot mine at night some time and find out.

I agree with your assessment, should be little or no flash.
.....but, with a night vision device, there is a big difference between little and no.

If no one else has worked this out, then my load development will focus there first.

Thanks

An effectibe flash suppressor (i.e. Vortex or AAC Blackout) should also reduce/eliminate flash.

Agreed, a flash suppressor will help, ....but!
reduced muzzle flash will probably mean a 5 minute break between shots.
I really need a load that burns out before it gets to the end of the tube so the NVD and I are not blinded.
No flash is as important to NVD shooting as subsonic is to silent.

Without a suppressor, I don't know that you can achieve a no muzzle flash goal (as viewed via night vision equipment mounted on the rifle). I say that based upon my limited experience. I have a PVS14 (1 yr 5 months old, so it's relatively new). The gain was turned all the way up. I was not using a supplemental IR light source. Partial moon light (not a full moon). My last night time shot at an armadillo was with the PVS14 mounted behind an Aimpoint PRO on a 16" .22LR upper with an A1 flash hider in place. I was using Winchester HV .22lr hollowpoints. I positively remember seeing a muzzle flash through the PVS14. The flash looked about 5 inches in diameter and about 6 inches long. Now it wasn't a real bright flash, but it was there. It did not blind me or the PVS14, as I saw the armadillo run away (I missed in my excitement by not properly holding a bit high to compensate for the short distance). The presence of the flash did startle me. I didn't shoot again, as the armadillo ran towards my shed.

My point to this story is that if a .22lr gives off a flash visible via the PVS14, even with a flash hider, I doubt you can make a 300 BLK round given off even less flash without a suppressor. I guess further experiments would be in order (300 BLK with no suppressor Vs 300 BLK with a suppressor at night viewing through night vision).

Well, it wouldn't be the first time I wanted something I couldn't have.

Hopefully some creative loading will get it there, (something I can't do with a .22).

....if not, maybe a creative flash hider.

Nothing ground breaking, For information purposes only!!! do NOT use for load data.
Converted LC Brass LC09

70 deg, 4300 ASL
Lilgun powder and CCI400 primers, Magneto Chronograpy(EASY to use)

Bullet 16 inch DCA , 8.5 inch CMMG Melonite barrel
110 TTSX
Blacktip 20.1gr 2396fps 2086 fps 2.235 OAL

125 BT 18.3 gr 2234fps 1932 fps 2.075 OAL

125 OTM 18.2 gr 2014fps 1814 fps 2.230 OAL

When I used Primed LC Pulled cases, velocity was down 100fps when fired from the 16 inch barrel.
Delta Company Arms 16 inch barrel is my most accurate 300 BLK, thanks Aaron.

With the LC primed brass with staked in Primers, I started to see slight primer flattening before I hit 2500fps with the Blacktip. I'm going to settle on the 2396fps load(no pressure signs with 4 different primers), any guess where the velocity will be below 500ft ASL?

I also had ladders loaded using LC09 converted brass that had been annealed, I lost on average 90 FPS with the 16 inch barrel(no crimp), vs the same loads with LC09 non-annealed. Session before this one was 60 deg, and the Gap between the annealed and non-annealed was closer to 100 fps.

Note the Extreme Spread. With your annealed loads was the ES any lower?
Long distance, the next best thing to being there!
