Re: 175gr Sub X
What powder do you plan on using?
Re: 175gr Sub X
Have H110, IMR4227, LilGun, IMR4198 and CFEBLK. CFEBLK was very accurate with the 190s and H110 did well with some cast pc'd 220s, will probably start wit those.
Re: 175gr Sub X
I thought I'd throw in a few additional details about my own load development with this bullet. From a 10.5" barrel, 5.7 grains of IMR Red gave me velocities of 1026, 1048, and 1049 fps. OAL of 2.12" With the gas turned off, these were very quiet suppressed.
Again from a 10.5" barrel, 10 grains of IMR4227 gave me velocities of 1046, 1059, and 1037 fps. With 10.2 grains they went supersonic. Five of them went into a 1.5" group at 50 yards using a 1x, 3 MOA red dot for an optic. Not quite the accuracy I was hoping for, but acceptable. With the gas turned back on these cycled my pistol-length upper fine, with bolt lock back.
One thing I found in my testing is that a subsonic cast bullet load -- cast from Lee's CTL312-160-2R mold, powder coated and sized to 0.311 over 9.1 grains of IMR4227 -- shoots to the same point of impact at 50 yards as the load above. So for my setup this is a great, inexpensive practice round that requires no sight changes.
