1680 & Shooters World Blackout - Ok for 150-200 FMJ and Cast Lead?

Post by psychbiker »

I have 4lbs of Shootersworld Blackout and I think 5lbs of 1680.

I can't find any user experience with Shooters Word Blackout. Anyone have any data to share?

I have a bunch of 147gr fmj and 150gr interbond fmj. I also cast 150gr-200gr and can gas check some.

Will these powders work for plinking round? Using a 16" AR with pistol gas system. Not looking to go sub with the 16" barrel.

I can drive about 2 hours round trip and get H110 and CFE Blackout and some 125gr fmjs.

Have you looked at the data provided by Shooter's World and Western?

Have you bothered to look at the sticky posts here?

You can use 1680 data for shooters world. The Shooters World is basically like a hot load of 1680, expect to drop 1/2-1 full grain off max load. Either will be a better choice for the heavier bullets than H110.
300 Blackout, not just for sub-sonics.

there's a fair ammount of data on here with SWB - just search for "lovex" or "do-63" (Sw blackout is do-63.2) (sw socom is do-63.1)

ive been using do-63.1 for a few years now and am super happy with it, was stoked when i saw SW released it as SW Socom powder since my local source dried up a year or so back and i was still loading out of my reserves i had when he was around.

I use the noe 150gc powder coated a lot and found with 1680 and CFE blk to get good velocity and accuracy was to find out what COL got me around 10 thou off the lands.
Then put in enough powder to get a little compression at that COL.
My 10.5 inch seekins barrel takes 21.7 CFE blk seated at 2.130 with the noe 150gc.
I got 3/4 inch groups at 50 yards today consistently.
I normally use 300-mp but the CFE blk shoots a little bit better.
