I just checked Hornady's factory load for OAL and BTO. Avg overall length: 2.070, BTO avg: 1.570. Both of those measurements based on 8 rounds.
Clearly the bullet nose variance affects the ogive number. Match bullets they are not, find the seating depth that feeds, could be longer is needed, especially in the RARR. I have not fired this factory load in my AR pistol or My RARR.
I bought a box to test at a local store and they had 25 more on the shelf plus 50+ boxes of supers. Two days later...all gone!

Re: Hornady 190gr Sub-X Load Development
Problem solved... I was using 5.56 Magpul mags and recently have procured some 300 AAC specific Magpul Mags. I also extended my COL to where the round sits in the case to just about center of the cannula. Everything works perfectly now. My thoughts are that with a round that has a profile that is more Lipstick like will cause the rounds to pinch together in 5.56 mags where in 300AAC they do not. Rounds that are more low drag like will work in 5.56 mags because they naturally have a Longer COL and are more forgiving when being chambered.

Is it possible to get a file on the bullet for Quickload? Want to go with VV N110 but cant find data online.
Re: Hornady 190gr Sub-X Load Development
I don’t know of any bullet data online other than length to enter into Quickload, I do not have bearing surface written down.
Length 1.305”
Boattail 0.220”
Canalure to base .600”
My load 8” barrel
9.1 grains N110
1.360” case
2.056 COL. Seated in canalure.
Hope that helps get you started
300 Blackout, not just for sub-sonics.
