Best bullet weight for 8.5 inch pistol barrel 300BLK
I have a AR pistol with a 8.5 inch barrel. With a 1/8 twist, 8.5 inch barrel. What would be the best bullet weight for it? Mainly for plinking for the range and home defense. Thanks

1:8 twist should stabilize any supersonic and most subsonic bullets adequately. So, what is the best weight???
For plinking, get whatever is affordable.
For HD, there are many options; 110 or 120 Blacktips (many companies load the110s), 125 SSTs, Lehigh defense makes subs and supers, Maker offers supers and subs as well as an 85gr if you want to maximize velocity. Just find a load that will expand at your velocity and learn how it shoots frm your gun.
And search through the threads on here, there is a wealth of info to be gleaned.
