Feeding problems Dillon case feeder.

Post by MeGrunt »

I have an older Dillon collator. The directions say to use the small pistol plate with the two washers under it.

I have it set up that way. The problem is it's not picking up cases. It can take more than 3 minutes to fill the tube.

I tried the small rifle plate but it was feeding brass in upside down.

Any ideas?

I would start with a call to Dillon for their input. Next, google your question for a any threads related to this particular unit and issues.

I use the small rifle plate and moved the metal clip at the top to 1/2 closed. Works well.

If it doesn't splatter, shatter, burst, boing or explode, it's not worth shooting.

Double check that. I have an older one and I thought it was fixed but it's a clip that can be slid back and forth.

I went to the large pistol plate with a drop-in spacer and it works like a champ now.

Glad you got it working.

I checked mine out again and the best combination was small rifle plate, no spacer and moving the steel clip on the case feeder closed about a 1/2 inch. It did not drop a backward case for the 200 rounds I tested. The newer case feeders have an adjustable clip but the older style still works great.
