Minimum loads. 125gr.

Post by Planetharris »

So, have a weird question. But it's kind of, if I need to preserve powder. Book says 14.6gr h110, but is that based off desired speeds? So my thought is, if I really wanted to preserve powder, I could run around 60% full, or whatever cycles? It would be pushing near pistol bullet speeds, but atleast could make many more loads if needed. I know, sounds like an off question, most the time we are searching for max loads. Thanks everyone.

H110 and Winchester 296 should never be reduced! Reduced loads with those powders can and have detonated in the past. In short, reduced loads can be a pipe bomb waiting to happen with those powders.

Other powders like 4227 you can get away with it to a small extent, but then you might stick a bullet in the barrel running low density loads.

Oh ok. That is 100% exactly why I asked this question. Was worried there still could be side effects. Thanks for the info.
