Was able to shoot between rain fronts today and the chrono was working good. This is the 11.9grain load with N120.
Average fps: 1181
ES : 37
SD : 12.5
100 yard groups ran around 3/4" this load groups better at 37^F and lower
It was 54 degrees so the velocity ran higher than before (avg. 1050fps). I am going to test 10.9grains in warmer weather to check velocity.

Re: Hornady 190 gr Sub-X load data
I found some success at last with the hornady 190 subx. my gun is noveske 14" pistol gas and the load that shot 1" in 10 shots was 10.0
shooters world socom powder in factory pnw brass that have cci 41 primers. ( or so that is the primers they said were in them.) very quiet ,
no unburned powder and cycled great and very accurate. I am going to try it with lc reformed brass and different primers to see if I can fine tune
it some more.

Has anyone found the max load these bullets will shoot without coming apart after leaving the barrel?

Re: Hornady 190 gr Sub-X load data
Also interested to find this out. Wonder how these would shoot in a 308 win.
Any reason A1680 isn’t the go to powder for this bullet? Seemed like that was the powder everyone was using for subs.
Re: Hornady 190 gr Sub-X load data
It’s loud when you want to make subs quiet. I call it Thunder Powder. But it is damn close to a sure thing for cycling subs in ARs.Cornerstonearmory wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2020 10:57 pm Any reason A1680 isn’t the go to powder for this bullet? Re: Hornady 190 gr Sub-X load data
Tried some Lil Gun and deeper seating on the sub-x bullet. 100 yrd groups shot consecutive no cryno velocity as I am looking for best groups. If I could only shoot consistantly.

Re: Hornady 190 gr Sub-X load data
Did anyone every get this info? wondering if shooting them at 1300 - 1400 fps in the black out can/should be done.
thinking a quieter but still expandable heavy bullet for whitetail deer at 100-200 yards.
thoughts????
Accuracy is not a gift. A gift is something you don't have to earn.

It's not "quieter" if it's super sonic. A sonic crack is very loud no matter what. It's like saying a 9mm is quieter than a 44 mag. I think less loud is the optimum term.
You can't beat the mountain, pilgrim. Mountains got its own way.
