FC .300blk brass any good?

Post by 760405reloader »

Hey everyone, i was just wondering if the .300blk fc brass is any good for reloading. I know the .223 fc isnt so great but i heard something about the .300blk fc being made by lake city. Looking to reload today and i want to be sure its good.

I had mixed results with it in the past due to variations in web and neck thickness. I ended up just using it for plinking til it was all spent.
See the Good/Bad brass sticky under the Handloading section.

Federal and Lake City are the same company??

Millitary FC or 223 FC? I've never had any problems with nato FC brass. What's wrong with it?

Apples and oranges. If it's stamped 300 BLK you won't have the neck thickness issues that crop up when converting. Load and shoot.

Hadn't heard of that. I've converted a lot of FC .223/5.56 brass without issue. I'd be happy to dispose of them for you if you decide not to use them.

FC(Federal Cartridge) is made by Federal, as is Lake City. It's the commercial version
