Where did all the brass vendors go?

A few years ago, I bought a bunch of brass here from the Brass General. (I think he was tlee_20 here.) Now, I've looked in the "Good Deals" and "Classified Ads" forum, and can't find any vendors...? Where'd they go? No one doing the conversions anymore?

I bought 1500 pcs. from Brass Bomber. I bought them mainly for .223 since I have 2 ARs and a bolt gun in .223, but If I need a batch of 300 Blackout, it's there for the conversion.
Your best bet is to just look around online and shop prices. Be aware of what head stamps you are getting.
Just a tip... It's worth the few bucks extra to have the primer pockets swaged.

Gabe was really good.

Bought some processed stuff at Cableas a year or so ago. lots of loose primer pockets.

Definitley "buyer beware" in the once-fired market.

I just picked up some 300blk range fired a couple weeks ago from dpete in these classifieds. I was looking for 300blk head stamped cases and took everything he had... about 700.

I got out of it 4-5 years ago when there were so many people doing it I could barely get 10c a piece SHIPPED for Lake City converted brass. I am sure my process was not the quickest, but I could process about 3k pieces a day(5-6 hours of actual work) starting with clean 5.56 and ending up with clean 300blk. So roughly 2 hours total work per 1k. My "profit" potential was about 3c a piece at the 10c shipped price. So I could "make" about $15 an hour of actual work...for something that was a hobby... My real job pays WELL above that so if I need extra money I just pick up an extra day at work.

I dont know how guys were selling brass for less than 10c a piece shipped unless they were getting the brass for free...

I am guessing a lot of the guys are/were in the same boat as me.

When a lot of us got into it brass was going for 20+ cents a piece.

I pick up range brass and process them myself. Got where I only do LC for 300BO, the rest I keep 5.56, but then I work cheep.

I also roll my own. There are threads on here where guys have ordered "processed" brass only to get different head stamps, different size/thickness necks, shoulders formed incorrectly, cut to incorrect lengths, etc., also with no way to tell how many times they have been loaded
