Re: Belling die
Nothing beats
I purchased a universal Lee Expander rifle die, I have a lot of Lee dies and they have served me very well. This particular die just wasn’t what I was looking for it only really flared the mouth. To keep the lead bullets from shaving I felt the expansion of the mouth of the case was extreme with the Lee Die, though I am sure it would work great on other calibers.
The Lyman M Dies expands the case and the neck of the case in two stages. Please be sure to pay attention to item number on the box in the photo it is important that you get exactly this model. There is another model which won’t work as well due to overall length. With the use of this die all of my troubles would go away. A great side effect I have noticed is that my rounds all seem to be more accurate as well. So I have changed my reloading routine to include expanding the neck of all my rounds including jacketed.

Re: Belling die
Now, the very best solution is to buy the Lee Universal Case Expanding Die.
Then buy a NOE Expander Plug that fits into the Lee die and converts it to function like the Lyman 'M' die. The NOE Plugs come in a far better diameter choices than the 'M' dies
The first dimension is the mouth flair diameter, the second is the neck expander diameter. Just order .001" greater than your bullet diameter. I use a .312 X .308 for .311 pc cast bullets.

Notes about 'M' dies I have previously used for 300 blk:
The .30 carbine 'M' die is too small for bullets larger than .309". Using NOE notation it would be a .310 x .307".
The .32-20 'M' die is better for .311" bullets. It is a .313 x .310". But it is to large for .309-.310" bullets.

I don't see a 310x307 on their site.

Re: Belling die
I have a Lyman M-Die, worked great at its intended job, but I found out my Dillon 650 powder funnel closed it back up. I had to get a .30carbine powder funnel to fix the issue...so my M-Die sits in the box. LOL
