It's Officially Spring. Wheres My Remington/UMC 115 grn FMJ!

Post by mj36639 »

Bahahaha, Okay seriously now  . I just got off the phone with Remington Ammunition customer service. The rep checked their production schedule for me. According to him the new Remington/UMC 115 grain closed tip flat base ammunition is currently in production and should be available soon. His information shows it as a 110 grain bullet but he thinks that may be a misprint and is probably still 115 grains. They are keeping the index/part number of L300AA62. I wish I would have thought to ask about the MSRP per box.

He sounded pretty honest. Not like those guys over at Barns.

I don't think that is correct.

They are making progress though.

Uh...What part of "that" may be incorrect? I hope it's not the part about ammo existing soon.

There is no 115 grain UMC in production.

As you stated in a previous thread, production of the new 115 UMC to replace the discontinued 115 UMC would start this Spring. Any updates as to when production will start?

300BLK owners have now gone over a year without affordable plinking ammo, essentially rendering the caliber a boutique cartridge. This really needs to change if the caliber is going to grow/thrive.

It is happening. I don't know when production will start, but I see constant activity.

BTW, every caliber, including 22lr, has gone over a year without affordable plinking ammo.

You can get 22LR for 5 to 10 cents a round every day if you put a little effort in. It comes up every day at that price. 22LR last 24 hours on Gunbot:

Simply can't get 300BLK for less then $1.xx a round. 300BLK past week on Gunbot. Looks the same every week. I hate throwing dollar bills at paper targets:

Yes, we know that ammunition is starting to be available again in general. But there was a more than one year period where you could not get 22lr for a normal price. I am just trying to say what nearly everyone knows, the ammunition shortage was not limited to 300 BLK. It is coming back in 300 BLK. I bet I want it back more than anyone.
