I've got plenty of the Barnes 110 Vor Tx but I've not gotten ahold of the 120 grain.
It's got a higher BC so I was going to pick some up. If you've got a 110 and a 120 in your hand, can you tell the difference?
I assume if they are exactly side by side that the 120 will be a hair longer, maybe? But if you had a handful of both, can you easily tell them apart?
I'm hoping they're going to be accurate out of a Wilson 14.7 barrel at the 3-400 range.

120 has a small boat tail. Reasonably easy to see side by side but it is small

Thanks dellet. Yeah, I see the BT. I was wondering more about if you had handloads or loaded ammo in your hand.
Looking at those two pics, does the ogive appear slightly different as well? Could that help with identifying loaded ammo?

Re: Barnes 110 vs 120 Vor Tx- appearance
Loaded will be more difficult. To me it looks like they just added the tail to the 110. I would need to take some measurements and can do that tomorrow. Other than weighing them, I don’t know if I could tell the difference without marking them somehow.

On the left with the brown tip is the 110. They measure within .003" both COL and base to Ogive. The difference in bullet length, is exactly the same as the difference as base of Ogive.I don't see how you could tell them apart.

Re: Barnes 110 vs 120 Vor Tx- appearance
Huh.
Hey, anyone wanna trade boxes of Barnes 110 grain for Barnes 120 grain??!!! I'll go 4 boxes of your 120 for every 5 boxes of my 110!!!
It's not that I think the 110s suck and the 120s will cause SEAL Team 6 plus ninja damage. I'd just like to try a higher BC bullet for longer range precision and only having one round and bullet to load would be ideal.
The advertised BC of the 120 is better than the BC of the 125 TMK. I'm guessing the BT on the Barnes has something to do with it. That said the 120 also expands where the125 TMK was not designed for that but obviously would produce a massive wound channel too.
