Best ammo for self defense - house gun

Thinking of 110 V- Max for self defense at the house? Any other recommendations?

There has been quite a bit of discussion on this. Basically, in my opinion, for supers look to the Barnes 110 blacktip (loaded by Barnes of any number of other companies) and for subs, I like the 194 Lehigh Max Expansion loaded by Lehigh or Beck.

Do a search and you'll stumble on lots of other opinions.

Lehigh 115gr Controlled Chaos for Supers & Lehigh 174gr Controlled Fracturing for Subs.
IV8888 & Tim from the Military Arms Channel did a couple videos testing 300 BLK ammo in a house mock up.
They are on Full 30 or You Tube. (The 78gr CQD bullets do not appear to be available to the public any longer.)

I like the 110g vmax myself. They work well enough at any reasonable SD distance. I also find them to to very constant. Plus I can actually buy them locally! If we are talking longer ranges I would go with the Barns solid copper loads.

Double ought buck.

But if you have to use a 300blk, check out the Lehigh Controlled Chaos.

That would be nice and quiet, but it would sail right through the intruder and every wall in your house.

Yeah, you don't need an AR-15 or a 30 round clip... Just get a double barrelled shotgun and fire a couple blasts in the air.
