Omega Bergara Blackout

Post by HotGuns »

I recently installed a 16.5" Bergara barrel on the Encore.

It sports an AAC Cyclone and its a great combination. The rifle is easy to carry, very accurate and pretty quiet. The Bergara barrell is factory threaded and it's a 1/8 twist that can shoot the subsonic 220's.

I like it.

Here is a picture...

I like it, now that folks are making barrels for the Encore, might just break down and buy 1.

Very nice, where did you purchase it?

The only Bergara barrel I saw in the Sportsman's Guide was advertised as a 1:10" twist.

I got it from a local shop here in town.
He got 3 in from UPS, and sold all of them within the first half hour that he had them.

THANKS HotGuns!!
I have a Bergara 300 AAC Blackout barrel ordered for my Encore from SportsmansGuide. :)
Now the listing says it is 1 in 8" twist.
It was just what I was looking for to replace a 24" 300 Whisper barrel!

+1. I just placed my order for this barrel to replace my old T/C Custom Shop 300 Whisper barrel. Too bad it is on backorder, but I can't wait to get it. Now it will be the proper twist of 1:8 instead of 1:10.

I had ordered one as well last week. I have a spare frame sitting on the bench waiting on the new barrel.

All of my Encores have had their internals cleaned up, glass crisp triggers, no creep and around 2.5-3.5lb trigger pull and then Duracoated. Very easy job for most anyone to clean up the halfassed TC internals and make one heck of a sweet shooter! I cant wait to see how the new Bergara barrel works out, every one of the Bergara barrels I have are more accurate than TC's offerings.

I would suggest taking a look at Bellmtcs.com and look into their headspacing kit as the break open guns DO NOT use conventional headspacing gauges!

Very nice indeed. I'd like to get an Encore done in .45ACP at some point.

Plan on doing any hunting with the suppressor?

Absolutely I do! My barrel should arrive early Feb I will have plenty of time to work up a load before the hunting season. I plan to use supersonic loads but haven't decided on a bullet yet. I may start with the Barnes 130gr Triple Shock.
