300BLK supersonic performance from 8 to 10 inch barrels from single shots, 110gr to 125gr bullets?

Post by shootzen »

I'm curious what kind of muzzle velocity performance can be achieve from pistol length barrels for supersonic loads with 110gr to 125gr bullets?

I'm not concerned with semi-auto performance and gas length cycling as I'm considering an 8" to 10" single shot Contender barrel in 300 BLK.

My 10.5 " SBR runs about 2200 - 2250 with 110 gr. Barnes Tac-Tx handloads.

Here's some of my notes:

CORE 9.5" BBL: NOSLER 125 BT, 18.7GR H110, WOLF KVB223M PRIMERS, 2.1” OAL, 2076 FPS

PSA 8" BBL: 19.0GR H110, 125GR NOSLER BT, 2.2” OAL, KVB223M PRIMERS, 1997FPS

DELTA CO ARMS 10.3" BBL: 19.0GR H110, WOLF KVB223M PRIMERS, NOSLER 125GR BT, 2.2” OAL; 2077FPS

100-200fps faster with a 16" bbl.

Thanks for the responses. I might consider an 8" - 10" Contender barrel in the future.
