Hi Everyone......I have my Mini 14 with Accuracy Systems converting it to 300 Blackout now. I have been told by them that the Mini will cycle supersonic but may not cycle subsonic even with a suppressor. I was really wanting to only run subsonic with a can but it will effectively become a bolt gun if it won’t cycle. What do you guy’s think?

Well, in an AR, a pistol length gas system is recommended for subsonics, and some have issues with a carbine length system. Now compare that to where the gas port is in a Mini-14. Different gas systems of course, but still...

Good luck, but what you were told is probably right.

Thats the barrel done except one smal detail. No gas port.
A lot of work left.

Nice, even without a gas system, it could make a nice rifle - kinda a cross between a bolt gun and a pump.
Shoot softly, and carry a big clip.

Thats pretty close to what will happen next, i will not drill that hole, but treat it as a straigtpull boltaction, just to see what kind of groups i get. That done, the hole comes, and then, what wil happen with the precision!?

Hmmm. That does sound like an interesting test of how much the Mini-14's gas system affects accuracy. Please post your results!

Yes, promising. I only had 110grn Barnes TTSX with 13 and 15grn N110 behind it available, the later gave better result on target, no time for chrono, yet.
