I've checked primers for possible head space issues and found them to be OK. I'll give the washer a try... I'd like to save this one. I'll let you know how things turn out.

thanks,

Thought I'd post an update on my vertical stringing Handi.

I added a rubber o-ring as suggested on the forum to isolate the barrel from the forward hand guard. The above was a fifty yard picture of stringing at 50 yards take shortly before my original post.

Here's today's performance (following the mod) at 100 yards. Yes there always has to be a flyer. Probably my fault given the stiff trigger and the guy next to me with the muzzle braked cannon. Anyway... thanks for the feedback. I'm taking the Handi as a backup on my deer hunt this weekend.

Another thing to consider with any Handi rifle having this problem, is the barrel latch should be dry. Remove the barrel and clean the barrel and frame sides of the latch with acetone then use grease to lube the pivot. Oil will drip but grease will stay put.

I keep a wallpaper syringe full of auto CV joint grease in my gun cleaning stuff. It's like mini grease gun and the CV joint lube is designed for extreme pressure.

I don't think so, just AAC branded ones. All under the Freedom Group now. They may all be New England now - Robert would know.

Looks like it might be a modified version from the Mossberg 500?
