CVA Scout V2 300Blk...much better than original.

Post by Shooter300 »

I've had this for about 9 months now and love it! It has the Apex action and trigger (2.5lbs) from factory. I had issues with other Scouts barrel release's sticking and making hard to open the barrel. Have seen some that people have broken by hitting them they were stuck so bad. I replaced the High scope mount with the Med. and got (youth) shorter butt stock from CVA for $22.00. It's not exactly "youth" at 13" LOP but beats the 14" LOP stock it comes with...unless you're 6'4"+! It is stainless with a 16.5" fluted barrel...5-24 thread...1-8 twist...one piece scope mount and a 2.5 lb trigger! At $349.00 and 30.5" OAL I would say "It's the Handiest 300 Blackout around"!

That is slick. Even though I have a handi, that bears looking into.

Thanks....I have really enjoyed this gun. I do all of my experimenting with powders and cast bullets with this gun. As with your Handi...you can fire a round...snap it open and take a peek down the barrel to see if the powder burned clean or if the bullet left any lead deposits. Every one that hand loads should have a single shot. This thing shots as accurate as my Micro 7! I tried a larger scope on it but it looked too big for the gun...the scope that's on here is a VXII 2-7....a 3-9 looked awkward. LOL....yeah...that's how short this thing is!

This is my FrankenHandi, not conventional, or pretty, but deadly with some of the stuff I have tried. I know it looks weird but it actually shoulders great.

Wow...that is some wicked sh*t....an M4 buttstock...1911 grips...half of a AR carbine forarm! You wasn't joking when you referred to it as "FrankenHandi"

I like it!!!

Idk if you already went to the CVA site but here's a link...

They also have one in black and a pistol...but CVA is bad about not showing the actual gun...so that's why I put my "monstrous" picture of mine on here.

I looked on the CVA site but did not see an offering of a one piece mount with the pic/1913 cuts. I wanted to get one to mount my thermal on and it has a LaRue mount that needs about 4 inches of base to snap the LaRue on. --- pruhdlr

I think I need one of these to put in my Iowa deer blind for shooting coyotes during our slug only season! What a nice short and compact little rifle. I use their 20 gauge rifled slug gun version of the Scout and it shoots sub 1" groups at 80 yards with a 225 yard effective range with the Remington AccuTip slugs.
