Good job.

An alternative to using sandpaper to make the channel for the barrel, next time try getting a sheet of notebook paper and putting it between the barrel (wrap the barrel) and then sit it in the epoxy until it's set.

When you remove the barrel, you can peel most of the paper out of the epoxy and what you can't, dissolves under running water from your sink or shower.

The channel will leave just enough room to freefloat the barrel, and there will be so little movement and give, you'll think they're 1 piece.
When those totally ignorant of firearms make laws, you end up with totally ignorant firearm laws.

Great Idea!
Thank you.

Plastic wrap (from the kitchen) or shipping tape works too

Did the same with a Brownells "red" Acraglass kit. Completely free floated the barrel afterwards. No flex now.

Kiwi clear shoe polish acts like a release agent. Put a liberal coat on the barrel and then fit the barrel into the Devcon. Make sure the Devcon stays less than half way up the side of the barrel or you have some work to do to remove the barrel. I have used the Kiwi/Devcon method to install takedown screw pillars and bed the action on 2 Ruger 10/22's. Works great. Some have played with pads between the barrel and channel to find the sweet spot that gives the best accuracy and then Devconed just that area of the barrel. The pressure point helps to dampen the harmonics and decrease barrel whip.
