Rem 700 sps varmint to 300blk? Can it be done?

So i need some help here. Im an avid shooter/hunter but a noob in gun building or modifications. So here is my left handed idea.

Im left handed....... So i want to get a rem 700 sps varmint (because they make a left handed model) and convert it to 300blk. Can I find a rem 700 sps tactical barrel in 300blk and make an easy flip? I know there would be a small head space adjustment. What would be the total process here?

My end goal is to have a custom left handed bolt action in 300blk that eventually will be suppressed. Im open to other ideas.

In theory just unscrew your existing barrel, thread the new one on check headspace and shoot. Never seems to be that easy though. Matching the varmint profile with a barrel off the shelf probably won't happen.

You would basically need the same barrel contour or be ready to modify the existing stock to fit.

There are a few companies offering what is called a remage barrel. A Remington thread pattern barrel that uses a Savage style lock nut. This allows you to set headspace by threading the barrel in or out and then locking it down with the nut. This again would require some modification of the stock. KAK sells those.

AAC has the light contour Micro 7 barrels in stock for $400. In theory all parts made by Remington it should be ready to go and being a light profile should not need any mods to the stock.

Any decent barrel manufacturer can make one, but you will need to set the final headspace. These guys did mine.

Im pretty sure shilen makes a 300 blackout barrel for remington short action . your best bet would be to have a qualified gun smith do the install and head space .
