700 sps rifle and gunsmith recommendations

As far as spending money accurizing, go for it. Most will tell you that it's not worth it have never seen what that type of custom work produces. I do dumb sh$t like that often and have never regretted spending the coin. I have a Ruger, but will build a Remington. More aftermarket stuff is available in the Remy platform. I have several gunsmiths here in Western NC that do great work. PM me if you want contact info.

If your don't mind spending big bucks $, may I suggest a Kimber Adirondack. It is chambered in 300 blackout and weighs 4# 13oz and has a sub moa guarantee.

There are several on Gunbroker for about $1400. They make a fine rifle, but a little too pricy for my budget.

On the Kimber subject: I owned one of their 1911s some years ago and had a pretty damn awful customer service experience so I won't be buying a Kimber product. I dig that XLR Chassis! Thinking plan is to go 700SPS then send it and the chassis over to Score Hi gunsmithing. Anyone have experience with this outfit? I'll post pictures as things come together.

the only gunsmith I have experience with is my own guns and anvil smithing service I do my best work with a mallet and pipe wrench . but it would be nice to see pics and details as your build comes together .

If you want to be a real gunsmith, you need a Dremel.

I would like to recommend you do not Cerekote your gun. Lots of guys love it. I am not one of them. I have seen it chip and it has no lubricating properties. Gunkote is the way to go. If you want a box mag this will aide in reliable feeding and you will enjoy a super slick bolt.

I have my rifles and my silencer done in KG Gunkote camo colors and Metacol 3 Black on a bolt gun.

The Remington action will take a few different box magazines and I will dig for the link to use AR-15 GI Mags with your Remington. I will update as son as I find that if interested.

A Mcgowen barrel will get you some very nice accuracy without breaking the bank. I have a friend who uses them in all his builds and they are all .5 MOA rifles.

That is the best action on the market that you could use for a custom gun. If you decide you want one I will forward you the information of my friend who builds these rifles for a quote. The last rifle he did at my shop with a 900.00 McMillan stock. That was a sweet 7mm when it was all said and done. He likes Cerekote. We differ in opinions on coatings
