Talley "Extra Low" ultralight ringmounts, Leupold UltimateSlam 2-7x33mm SA.B.R, homemade 1" web sling (quick-adjusts from the rear and leaves a fixed "safari Ching" style loop at the front), fixed 2-piece sling swivels off a Marlin, and DIY hard plastic buttplate pillaged from a Savage stock and modified to fit. Weight is <6.7lbs as shown. Only other mod planned is a Glades bolt knob, probably coming in late March, and possibly a PIG stock pack later on when I get my can for a little ballast.

The RARR was not designed with iron sights in mind because they would be blocked by a suppressor attached to the muzzle. As an alternative to iron sights, an inexpensive red dot sight would be very easy to install and just as accurate.

It will be hard to fit iron sights on the RARR. The scope rail at the rear and the tapered barrel flared at the muzzle would make a front sight install tricky.
However, If you must have iron sights- After removing the scope rail, one of the Williams peep sights

may fit the holes in the receiver. For a front sight, you could solder or dovetail a sight onto the thread protector after tightening it and sealing with loc-tite. Or, you could take a large diameter washer that would fit over the barrel threads, and file a post on it, then lock it in place with the thread protector.

One of my few gripes about my Ranch was the trigger... even with the set screw fully removed, it still felt notably heavier than other 3-3.5lb triggers. I don't have a triger gauge to test the actual pull weight, but according to my fingertip scale I'd say it would not adjust any lower than 4lbs, so I found several tutorials on other forums for the "free trigger mod" and it is MUCH better now... It retained the crispness of the break and lack of take-up or overtravel the factory trigger exhibited, but reduced the pull weight well below 3lbs... it feels perfect now, the trigger safety still functions 100%, and I can not get it to drop-fire. As always, your mileage may vary; try it at your own risk.
This will lighten the trigger pull to approximately 2 lbs at the minimum setting [and retain some adjustability].

Step one, remove the pin (A) [lift the trigger assembly out after you've removed that pin]
Step two, remove the trigger adjustment screw (B)
Step three, remove the spring (C) that follows the blue line.
Step four, cut off ~1.75 coils
Step five, sand the cut end of the spring flat
Step six, remove any burrs
Step seven, reassemble [in reverse] with the cut side of the spring toward the adjustment screw

This is the most active forum I've found for these rifles. Lots of options for compact optics, in fact I have reviewed four in this very thread.

My round count is over 200 now, not a single issue. Temps ranging from 95F to -5F, it runs like a champ regardless. Love this gun.

I cannot find one of these rifles in northwest Arkansas. I have called every local gun shop including cabelas and academy. Most don't have a clue what I'm even asking about. And the ones who know the rifle claim that they wont be able to get one for the next 3-6 months. I am traveling to Indiana this week and will check around up there while I'm there. Hopefully they will sell a rifle to a non Indiana resident.

Ha, I wish I had a little bit of property... I live in Phoenix and had to drive 300 miles round trip just to get away from people and see a little snow! Well worth it though.

I just picked up my Ruger yesterday and I am set on getting a Nikon p300 scope.

I want to know what rings to purchase? Ideally, the cheapest and best option available IYHO.

Thanks!

"Cheapest" and "best" do not compute, as they are generally the opposite of each other.

If your Ruger will just be a range gun and won't be knocked around much just about any cheap rings will do. You'll need to determine the correct height. The recoil isn't enough to warrant heavy duty rings or and personally I don't think the rifle is suited for high precision machined ones.

If you plan to hunt with it I would get a good set of durable and lightweight picatinny rings, or better yet ringmounts from Talley or Leupold.
