Alternate Scope Mounts for the Micro 7

Post by SuperChuck »

Wanting to change over to some turn-in/dovetail 2-piece bases. (my big hands have a hard time with a one-piece mount, and I like using the Burris Signature rings with the inserts)

I noticed the base screws appear to be larger than standard.. Does anyone have a 2 piece mount in this new arrangement?

It uses 8-40 screws, like most high-end custom actions or the M24.

Is there a representative base model that I can use to cross reference... The X100, or the M24 is a direct cross reference?

Any particular base mfg anyone know out thats making the specific base for this model?

No other Model-7 style rifle has ever been made with 8-40 screw holes, so no mount would exist. But some of the smaller base makers could probably provide one. You could call Badger. Or you could modify a regular Model-7 mount and reuse these screws.

He could just cut out the middle part of the one piece rail mount.
Long distance, the next best thing to being there!
