I agree But I am very impressed with the new one.
I am not sure but the barrel on this one seems different than my original..
barrel 1 just said 300blk 1:7 twist
barrel 2 just said 300blk (no twist stamp on it at all)
this barrel says 5R Tactical 1:7 twist
does anyone else with a 700 have a barrel that has the 5R tactical?
and as far as how it shoots tomorrow will tell and there will be a range video ( I am hoping its good enough for the best group competition)

Re: Remington 700 Chapter 2
I have the 5r tactical. Shoots excellent. Im more than pleased with it. I wish it was slightly lighter though.
Re: Remington 700 Chapter 2
I do not have a rifle with 5r rifling but understand it is supposed to be excellent. Sounds like they actually upgraded your rifle free of charge.
Re: Remington 700 Chapter 2
You would probably need to pull the action and barrel out of the stock. My barrel is marked 5R Tactical 1:7 twist. The 180 degrees is marked Remngton arms 300 AAC Blackout.
And it's a 1/10 but kept it since it is extremely accurate and the only subs I had trouble with were Lehigh 194 and Berger 230.

300 Blackout, not just for sub-sonics.
Re: Remington 700 Chapter 2
5r tactical 1:7 twist....late 2015 production......measures 1:7
Zero complaints with mine. Shoots as good or better than any 700 i've owned from the "glory years"
Glad to hear they made it right.....probably need a sub 1/2" to win
