Someone started one on the 20th. One of the Instagram accounts I follow posted a link today, it's up to 670 signitures so far. Here's the link https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/repeal-nfaJim Timber wrote:I even tried making a Whitehouse petition to pursue legislation to remove the barrel and overall length requirements for rifles from the NFA (since pistols are legal and that's what they really wanted to ban with it anyway), but my submission produced an invalid url and it's not possible to find it without 150 signatures. Just think if we didn't need a 16" barrel or welded on can to have a no-stamp gun.
I'm not giving up on the petition, but I am letting it go for the weekend. Seems like something Trump might support if he really is a 2A ally.

The time calls for dark men to do dark things.
Do not be afraid to lead them to it.

NFA has other provisions for explosives and such, so I thought a direct line item approach would be easier to make happen.Sithlord wrote:There's another for a repeal of the Hughes Amendment:A Boy Named Sue wrote:Someone started one on the 20th. It's exactly how we repealed the suppressor ban in MN a couple sessions ago. Just took out the "unlawful" part of the law and the exceptions to who may own them which reversed the meaning of the law without raising too many eyebrows outside of committee level hearings.
NFA is well known to the anti's, so if we whittled away at it we could eventually get to the finish line without a media showdown in the process. After all, that's their playbook against us.

I would say that without a doubt, the 6.5 Creedmoor has been the most popular cartridge out there for several years running now!
300 Blk. has a fairly large following..., but it's still somewhat of a "niche" cartritdge...., although the "niche" is growing!!

Re: 6.5 Creedmor more popular than 300 Blackout?
Isn't there some sort of deal between TC and JDJ? I know they made Contender barrels in 300 whisper but wouldn't do 300blk.
I like 300blk and it's cool that there are so many options now, but I can see why a company might want to go a different direction with new products. The current batch of 6.5 cartridges are not a bad piece of the market. Where the 300blk is an expanding niche, it's still a narrow niche compared to the long range, low recoil rifle market.

My next rifle will be in 6.5 Creedmore.
Can't decide between the Savage Stealth, Ruger PR, Tikka TAC, and a Begara. That and about $900-$1,600 is holding me back!
