One of the Black Friday scope deals here should suite your needs. Everything from high magnification to tactical turrets and mil-dots at great prices:

I have tried several scopes on my Remington SPS but have settled on the Nikon M223 IRT. I am not great at judging exact distance and with the rainbow trajectory of the subsonic 220 bullet it is much needed. The laser rangefinder combined with the Nikon Spot On online service makes shooting the 300 at any distance out to 150 yards a no brainer for me.

So the M-300 is 3 times expensive as the P-300 but with less magnification? That seems strange.

I wish I could say I had experience with Nikon's new M-300 BLK but I haven't been able to get my hands on one yet. I can tell you one of the reason's for the added expense over the PROSTAFF is that the M is for MONARCH Series of glass which is much better then the PROSTAFF glass. The 1.5-6 is one of my favorite magnification choices for carbine competition's. The range I belong to shoot's from 25-200 yards during their competition's so the added magnification helps me out considerably. The M-300 also has a 42mm obj. for great light gathering and field of view, also a 30 mm tube as well. I use a couple of old MONARCH 1.5-6 African scope's while I wait patiently to try out the M-300 BLK.
I have used the heck out of the P-300 BLK, P-223 3-9 and 3X carbine scope and like each one of them, especially for the price.
