How do you like that CBC/Hera upper?
I just ordered this one directly from CBC the other day to have a cheap beater 5.56

The price was right and I already have a spare buffer and lower to put it on

It seems to work really well - more accurate than I am, even with the P-300 scope on it. I've only got about two hundred rounds through it, but haven't had any issues at all. I would suggest going through all of the fasteners when you get it to make sure they're torqued down - the three pinch bolts at the rear of the handguard were a little looser than I would've liked, but the quality is definitely there, especially for an inexpensive upper!TMD wrote:Doc S wrote:My 300 Blackout: CBC Industries 16" barrel / Pistol gas system. Yeah the first thing I do with a complete store bought upper is disassemble it, lap the face of the receiver, and inspect all of the parts. Bought a 300 upper the Christmas before last that was advertised on here for $399 complete and didn't do that. After a few dozen rounds accuracy fell off drastically. Figured out the problem when I unscrewed the barrel by hand with the barrel nut still torqued to the receiver. Barrel extension pin wasn't seated.

Initially I wanted a bolt action with a 8-9" barrel and a folding stock (empty buffer tube and Blade stabilizer) for compactness and to remove the action noise. I wanted it reqistered as a pistol to avoid the SBR hassle. After pricing a short action receiver, Chassis, and custom barrel, this is what I eventually built. I used an adjustable gas block to provide the ability to cycle or not cycle the bolt if wanted.

That's pretty cool. Pics are small though.Gastone165 wrote:Initially I wanted a bolt action with a 8-9" barrel and a folding stock (empty buffer tube and Blade stabilizer) for compactness and to remove the action noise.
