Just installed one from Midway into my 16" 300blk build. Definitely quiets the action, especially noticeable when shooting subs.

Re: JP silent captured spring
This is a great thread. Thanks for all the insights. I was wondering what kind of spring pressure would be needed to make one - and now I know.

Re: JP silent captured spring
After a long period of procrastinating over this project I finally got off my ass and fixed a couple of problems I was having with this thing. I ran it last week and it worked flawlessly even in fairly rapid firing. With subsonic 300 I am running a 17.5 lb spring.

So far my JP SCS runs great with the JP Low Mass BCG w/ enhanced bolt with a 14.7" barrel and carbine gas system. Haven't ran subs through it yet.

I have the Young Super light BCG I'm hoping works with the JP captured spring.

Re: JP silent captured spring
Are the standard 223 JP ones still working well? The spring BOING is really bugging me with the subs.
If it doesn't splatter, shatter, burst, boing or explode, it's not worth shooting.

Re: JP silent captured spring
The "223" JP Silent Capture buffer and spring is the only one I know of and the one I use. Works well even in my A2 buffer with the A2 plug that it comes with. I shoot both supers and subs with it in a carbine gas 16" barrel rifle. It will get rid of the BOING for surestrobro32 wrote:Are the standard 223 JP ones still working well?
