Daniel Defense DDM4PDW 7 in. Zero range?

Post by Kip42 »

I have the 7 inch barreled DDM4 PDW in 300. I want to zero Magpul BUIS and an aim point m5. What range for 125 and 150 grain loads? I was told 25 or 50 yards.

Hi. It would be useful to know your use case for context. For example, for hunting and defense based on my local terrain, I went with a 50 yard zero and worked out where I would be at 25 and 75 yards.

I would suggest using your maximum point blank range as a zero. You need to figure out your muzzle velocity and the BC of the bullet you are using. And then you can plug all of that data in here:

https://shooterscalculator.com/point-blank-range.php

That will give you a zero for the maximum distance where you can hold dead on a certain size target without adjusting the sights or holding over, and be able to put shots into that target.
