I know that the Vortex Spitfire #X is built for 5.56 ballistics. I haven't tested my question below yet. Just wondering if anyone has.

Has anyone tested the Spitfire's BDC when mounted on a 300 Black; 10.5 inch bbl? That is:

1. Pistol zero'd at 50 yards
2. Where might a 120 gr bullet impact when aiming with the next subtend down? (per mfg'r it's supposed to be 200 yards with a 5.56)

Any ideas / guesses? Thanks for your consideration.

It’s almost impossible to predict without knowing velocity and bullet, but it’s easy to figure out. My wife has the 3X and the reticle is below.


Once you know the MOA values of the lines, you need to know your drop or a reasonable guess.if you know your bullets BC and approx velocity plug that into any decent ballistic calculator.

The 120 Barnes at 2000fps, with a 50 yard zero has about 10” of drop at 200 yards. 5 MOA.

That gets you on paper and close enough to ring steel.

She hits steel plates at 200 with subs easily, generally can hold a 3” group with a Handi-rifle.
