looking for a flash can to add 4" to barrel length.
I want a 12.5" 300 Blackout barrel but don't want to spend money on a SBR stamp so I want a good 4" flash can to pin and weld to end of barrel. does anybody know of a person or company that might be able to make one. A 4" version of the Colt 609 unit with grenade ring would be really nice but must have 5/8X24 threads. thanks in advance.

I don't know of any flash cans that are being produced that are 4 inches long.
Even the knockoff ebay clones aren't more than 3 inches or so.
You may have to settle for something like this:

When those totally ignorant of firearms make laws, you end up with totally ignorant firearm laws.

My guess is you are looking at 50-75 bucks for the actual muzzle device and then another 50-75 bucks to have it pinned.22_boomer wrote:I want a 12.5" 300 Blackout barrel but don't want to spend money on a SBR stamp
You arent that far off from the $200 tax stamp.

I pin and weld myself. Looks like I'm have to do the whole thing myself -- but thanks guys for replying so quick. I got a 609 style 4" unit done for a 12.5" 256 Winchester magnum but it could still use the 1/2X28 threads.rjacobs wrote:My guess is you are looking at 50-75 bucks for the actual muzzle device and then another 50-75 bucks to have it pinned.22_boomer wrote:I want a 12.5" 300 Blackout barrel but don't want to spend money on a SBR stamp

Is there some reason you wouldn't want a 14.5" barrel and then pin and weld a 2" device? I just want to understand your fixation on a 12.5" barrel...
No matter what you read on the intarweb CCI450s and CCI41s ARE NOT BALLISTICALLY IDENTICAL with H110! I'm also not a intarweb lawyer so I don't argue with anyone who is.

I completely agree. If you're not suppressing it then might as well get a 14.5" or 16" and use its full potential with supers.tfbit wrote:Is there some reason you wouldn't want a 14.5" barrel and then pin and weld a 2" device? I just want to understand your fixation on a 12.5" barrel...

seems foolish to me to go with a shorty, then lengthen it to get legal when there's already lots of legal options available to you without modification - or with minimal modification thats easily attained in the case of the 14.5" choice.
