So what zero does everyone use? On my 556 I use a 50yd since 0-300 is all with in a few inches. But I finally got a 300 and am curious as to what people are zeroing at. So what do y'all use?

50 or 100. Take your pick. I use 50 due to my eyes getting older and only running a 2-7x optic.

50 on my AR, 100 on my bolt gun. I guess it kinda depends on what u plan on doing with it?

Close in to 50 a laser. 50 yd 0 on canted open sights, 100 yd zero set with Nikon scope from chart. Vast difference in bullet weight and barrel length from an AR. Learn your ammo and good luck.

Depends on your load and purpose. I'd suggest getting either Pointblank Ballistics (PC) or Strelok (iPhone/Android) and look at the "Point Blank Range" info (under misc in Pointblank, called MRD Calculator in Strelok) after entering some load data.

There is no such thing as the "best" zero. The base zero that "I" use with my 9" 300blk can basically be called a 25m zero. This allows me to hold dead on out to 200m with the bullet rising no more than 3" and dropping no more than 3".

My scope & iron sights are zeroed @ 100yds shooting my 110gr supersonic Varminters. 32 clicks up from there (scope elevation set to "8") is the 50yd zero for my 220gr subsonic load.

this would be for a T1. I was thinking of doing a 25m or 50m zero, I just don't have a ballistic calculator to figure out if there is a point that the bullet will be point of impact, point of aim, like on my AR with a 50/200 zero.

Not wanting to derail a thread too much but, using any of the ballistic calculators mentioned will get you the information you are looking for.

Once you decide a bullet you will be using and what velocity you will be shooting it at. Then others can share things that might help you more.

With available bullets now you could be talking 78 grains at 2800 fps or 245 grains at 1000 fps.
