Under an inch at 100 yds

Post by AR-300 »

Been working with my rifle and load
Finally got a 3 shot group under 1 inch at 100 yards
The only thing holding me back from getting these consistently is the mil spec trigger group
(and my shooting ability)
Good day at the range yesterday!

Nice going. It is a real feeling of accomplishment when we reach a goal we have set through perseverance.

Good shootin'! Those triggers are hard to manage and still come up with a group <1". Well done.

Little help on the milspec trigger, using TW25 grease to lube up the trigger components will help immensely.

Could always go one step further as well and really pimp out that milspec. I've currently got mine down to 4# with only a tad bit of pretravel with just $12 and some tools.

What's your setup? (Weapon/optic/etc) Load data would be good to know as well. Nice grouping!

Nice group. Those mil. triggers can really vary in pull. I would recommend to just change the top hammer spring only with the JP yellow and do the grip screw Blowout left a link for to use. Then evaluate it. Clear glass and a fine reticle is also needed. When I got to a 3/4 group consistant on a bad day , on the 100 , and a .5 group as normal then I knew it was there --but this was with match 223. The above is a cheap trigger fix, but it takes money for top equipment parts to pound a 1 inch group fast fire on the 100 and do it consistant. Accuracy is a combo of many parts and correct ammo. Some will not agree, but in this day and age, accuracy is more so equipment regulated than shooter. A junk 9 power cant even compete with an ACOG 4 Power for clear fast consistant accuracy. Putting them all in the same hole is almost a waste of ammo--haha.
