New guy here

Post by Condor1970 »

Hey all. New guy here. I am currently looking at the possibility of building a 300aac pistol with a 8.5" barrel, and thougth I would start by just sayin' hello.

I have built a few of my own firearms in my collection over the years, and the idea of a 300aac pistol is quite intriguing. I started off by building a couple 556 Ar's back ni the 90's. To which I got bored of very fast, and sold. I then customized an M1A, to which I love, but is quite the monster to shoot, and cost of shooting is high, even with reloads, and the cost of powder nowadays. Then, last year I built an 18" 6.8spc SPR rifle with an Adams Arms piston kit. I roll my own ammo to feed it (pricey ammo), and absolutely love that rifle over all the DI AR's I've had in the past. So darn reliable. Gotta love piston guns, when done right.

Then, last year I got adventurous. I bought a Caspian Hi-Cap 1911 frame, and built my own custom hi-cap 6" long slide 10mm by hand. I also roll my own ammo for that as well. This of course leads me to my first question in the Ammo forum.

Anyway, just checking in.

Ok, you asked for it!!! Let's see if this works.

Caspian Hi-Cap 1911 6" Long Slide in 10mm.

The mag in the pic, is the first mag I modified to fit. So, it has some of the coating stripped off. I have since modified/stripped, and Cerakoted (Tungsten mag with Black base extension) 5 hi-cap magazines to function perfectly in this gun. It really is sort of a one off build. Not many out there like this one.
