A company has invented a digital trigger, currently for ARs but planned for other rifles. Seems like a neat idea. No creep, no break point, only a spring resistance. And if the digital trigger fails, it has a mechanical backup. Semi, 3 round burst, 6 round burst, full auto, and a way to adjust the rounds per minute speed. Currently designed for military, but there will be a civilian version. Retail will be $200.

Re: Digital-Electronic AR Rifle Trigger
Well shoot, that's just cool. I could see the civilian market being trouble though, if you have someone who's good at modifying electronics and stuff... However I like the idea of pushing technology, using this electronic trigger is similar to the electronic primed/fired ammunition I've read about, but this one retains Newtonian physics of the traditional hammer.
Re: Digital-Electronic AR Rifle Trigger
Sorry but that's just stupid IMO.
Re: Digital-Electronic AR Rifle Trigger
Wonder if it requires any modification to the lower receiver?
Variable rate of fire would be nice in my 614...

Re: Digital-Electronic AR Rifle Trigger
I thought atf ruled years ago on electronic release triggers in semi auto guns.
The electronic primer triggers were different.

A world of possibilities.
Add wifi/bluetooth/4G and you could mount your deer rifle on a drone and hunt from your campsite. Or, add a brain wave detection unit and you could just "think" a shot off impressing your pals at your next rimfire match.
Hook it up to google glass.
Mark Zuckerberg can keep a tally of your rounds fired.

Re: Digital-Electronic AR Rifle Trigger
One trigger pull for each round fired.
Why wouldn't an electronic trigger be OK?

Re: Digital-Electronic AR Rifle Trigger
Once this gets made, ATF will probably rule micro-usb cords to be "machine guns"...
Re: Digital-Electronic AR Rifle Trigger
While i have no clue how their system works i could see the atf using the old "readily convertable" reasoning on denying its use and possible conversion to a machine gun.dead-bird wrote:One trigger pull for each round fired.
