KAK Mr. Blonde 9" Barrel - What length rail?

Post by GrimmLV »

I have a new 9" Barrel on the way from KAK, and need your thoughts. First, just a note, I don't want the rail to run over the suppressor, so that is not a concern. Which rail length works with an AAC brake, and an SDN-6? I am looking at a 7" or 9" rail. Does a 9" rail run too close to the AAC brake, and mess with the SDN-6 properly snugging up?

Anyone have a pic handy of a 9" rail with this combo?

Thanks guys!

I had a 9" seekins BAR rail on my 9" KAK...the SDN6 mounts too far under rail for easy detachment...i took it off and used the rail on my 16" build, gonna get the 7" to use on my KAK...

Closest I can come to it is: 300 BLK CMMG 8.5" tube with TROS 3 lug and 9 1/2" YHM light rail leaves 1/2" of the 3 lug exposed. 3 lug adapter adds abt 1 1/4" to barrel length.

Shown here with Octane 9HD2 mounted.

Is a handy length. Muzzle is outside of the handguard. 3 Lug makes rapid attachment and removal of the can easy.

I know my AAC 9" upper using KAC handguard leaves just enough space for sdn6...very similar in spacing as above pic...if you know someone that has the tool for install and can pick up the KAC at a decent price, i love that handguard and it would do exactly what you want...

I am wondering about the KMR-9 from BCM. They should be close to shipping. Has anyone heard anything concrete?

Has anyone had any experience with one of the longer KMR rails?

Concerning the KAC, I LOVE their rails, but $300, and another $100 for an install tool, seems WAY spendy. Not that the KMR will be cheap... :

KAC makes the URX 4 rail, also. It comes in an 8.5" length, includes the proprietary wrench, and is between $260 and $270.

They're nice rails. I had one on an 11.5" 5.56 upper for a while.
