300BLK chambered and fired in a 5.56mm barrel. The projectile is stretched out, the magazine blew out, and damaged the gun.

Wonder what would have happened if it had been a cast bullet...

Sharpie makes oil-based paint pens that work GREAT. I just labeled all my 300BLK mags with a large red "300" near the top, right were the mag goes into the mag well.

Guns are tools designed for dirty work both competitive and defensive. If I meet someone with a well worn gun, I hope their barrel is pointed the same direction as mine if the lead starts flying...

Hmm. He must have used a short load. More powder and that bullet would just shoot right out :P .

Good thing I only have enough money to shoot one caliber.

That's what I do. Goof Off takes the paint right off without harming the mag when/if I need to switch. I also have been putting "super" or "sub" on them with the projectile weight.

Lately I have been taking a few wraps of hockey tape on the mags for grip; then I just paint pen on that. It makes the switches even easier.

The way it's cut out so nice it makes me wonder if it was done on purpose for a demonstration piece.

the cut was done as a demonstration , i seriously doubt that anyone would fire a 308 through a 5.56 intentionally just to see if it would kaboom or not

I don't know if it was or wasn't but r&d is accomplished somehow. I would be willing to bet good money that those cut outs weren't done in someone's garage.

But what was his group size?

Did he crono it?

Is he sharing his load data?

If it was a 5.56 chamber, would it be ok?

Can I use a 223 silencer if I shoot 300 BLK out of a 223?

i think there was another thread about having a barrel cut like that after it happened to a member on here. the word i remember reading out was using a Wire EDM to acheive the process.
