Hello I'm at a loss here. I have tried everything I can think of but the rifle short strokes every time.
About the rifle.
Anderson upper & lower
Anderson 16in ss h - bar barrel port hole .120
Troy gas block
dpms lpk
magpul butstock kit with carbine spring and buffer (3oz)
Lighter buffer 2.5oz
BRO bolt carrier group
Yankee Hill gas tube
brownells charging handle
Ammo that I have tried are Barnes, Remington umc, Remington match all supersonic.
The brass ejects but will not cycle the next round or lock back on last round fired it will lock back manually.
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
need help short stroking.

Measure the distance from the shoulder on the barrel to the gas port, then measure the distance from the edge of the gas block to the hole in it.........bet you need to pull the gas block off the shoulder in the barrel the width of a handguard cap

^^^^^^^^^^^^what he said
sounds like your gas block may be misaligned.

Yes, I am a Baptist, and yes I carry a gun. You might think I carry a gun because I don't trust God. Well you would be wrong. I have complete faith in my Lord. It is mankind I have no trust in
Re: need help short stroking.
Many if not most gas blocks are designed to offset from the shoulder by .025" which is the thickness of a handguard retainer.

Re: need help short stroking.
Just to confirm, the gas port is in the carbine position?
Re: need help short stroking.
First off thanks for the replies. Just checked the gas block it is spaced at .025 as for alignment it is on straight well according to the straight edge and calipers. Gas port is carbine length.
Again thanks
Again thanks

Any chance that it's cycling too fast? How hard does the buffer bottom out in the RE when it cycles? Does it even feel like the buffer is bottoming out?

Gas Key loose?
Re: need help short stroking.
Do you have a known good carrier you can try?
Did you assemble the upper or did you buy it complete?

Doesn't feel like the buffer is bottoming out the recoil feels less than my 223.
Gas key is tight and staked well I did try a fail zero bcg it operated the same. I also tried it on a different lower same out come.
I did build the rifle upper and lower, my first 300blk not first ar.
Thanks
