FN Herstal 300BLK barrels. Anyone with actual knowledge of?

Post by LiveFreeorDie »

So I've been researching converting my BLK SBR from a 12" Noveske with AAC 762-SD to a Liberty Leonidas. For an option 3 upper rework, Liberty "suggests" an 8.2" Noveske barrel but they simply are not available. Just found out from PSA that they carry FN Herstal barrels for 300BLK in 7", 9", and 12" lengths. These are reported to be 1:8. Anyone here "really" know if the Leonidas would work with a 7" and any word on the FN barrel? I might have found an option here unless I'm dissuaded by knowledgeable critics. TIA for any and all feedback.

admin/moderators: if this belongs somewhere other than Main Discussion Area, please move it. thx.

I have 16 inch FN barrel from PSA in my AR.
Very happy with the CHF barrel.
Cannot comment on your build or applicability,
but FN barrels are GTG

+1 I can't say if the 7" will work for your specific build. But I can testify that FN makes some great barrels. So no worries there! Good luck with the build

I would very much prefer 1/7 twist on a barrel that short. You also have to think about handguard options when you go under 8" of barrel.
