Haven't Dumped 223/556, I just find I dont shoot them near as much as 300blk anymore. I was never the type that went out and did mag dumps nor did I shoot Hundreds or Thousands of rounds in a weekend, so I have been able to shoot a few hundred 300blk factory rounds and reload that brass to feed the beast. Picked up a thousand reformed cases, and am now starting to work on those. Haven't completely lost interest in 556, but the new 300 lady is very alluring.

The Blackout is a fun round to shoot but there's no way it's going to replace any 5.56mm rifles that I currently own. There's plenty of room on my safe for both chamberings.

I did sell a mini-14 and a safe queen 20 inch 5.56 build but I havent dropped any caliber in favor of another .
22lr dedicated upper and lower.
5.56 , colt 6940 and howa varmint supreme
300 blackout . smith and wesson 16 inch , cmmg 8.5 inch and remington 700 sps
308 remington rock river 20 inch a4
458 socom rock river upper essential arms lower . thats the extent of my ar type collection . while I own many other types of rifles bolt , lever and single shot I find I hunt more with my ar rifles than any of the others. now what to build next ?

I have considered selling a 223/5.56 to fund a 300, but for now, I am leaving as is
SBR 5.56
SPR 5.56
18" 6.8
SBR 300
16" 300

If I had to pick one to sell, it would be the SPR 5.56, after all, the 6.8 more than covers that need.....hmm, might talk myself into something here

I did after katrina. I went with a springfield 308 socom ,with plans for a wisper. I got a ar and bolt action in 300 blk and 458 socom by RR, and a scar 17.

I completely switched over to 300blk because it has been easier to find reloading supplies for it. I sold my 5.56 recently and bought a SPS TAC .308 along with some goodies for my 300bllk. The 300 is a hoot shoot compared to 5.56, it hits harder and has similar accuracy. The benefit of 5.56 is that it's more popular and has less recoil, but right now is a tough time to shoot it.

Completely sold out of my 5.7 and 223 for 300 now I only have 3 calibers(9mm, 300 BLK, 300 Winn mag)
nothing is more powerful than a young boy's wish. Except an Apache. Apaches have machine guns & missiles. It is an unbelievably impressive complement of weaponry an absolute death machine

The more I shoot the 300BLK, the more I like it. However, its the
price per shot that keeps me from dumping the .223 from my "library."

I have enough components from "PRE-MADNESS" that I am still loading
.223 for about 15 cents per shot. I can't even find bullets for the new
300BLK for less than 25 cents per. My total cost per round for the 300
is about triple the .223 right now.
