h2 buffer and adjustable gas

Post by cbost »

I just recently put an adjustable gas block on my rifle. My setup is Noveske 10.2 barrel M 16 bolt carrier carbine buffer system with h2 buffer. do I need to run and h2 buffer or can I go back to a standard carbine buffer.

Don't most pistol length gas systems use an H2 type buffer? Have you tried to see if it will cycle with a carbine buffer? Maybe the adjustable gas system will help with that.

The advantage of the adjustable block is tuning your gas port to not only your build, but your load. This will depend somewhat on the port size in your barrel. The heavier buffer used with pistol gas is used to help slow down carrier speed. Since you can also do this by reducing gas you can run a lighter buffer and carrier and still function with less recoil.

The trick is learning the settings for what you are shooting and being able to repeat them.
300 Blackout, not just for sub-sonics.
