Okay, looking for some help. I'm starting an SBR build and I want to find the least expensive 16" upper to tide me over till the Form 1 (is that the right one?) clears. I've got a .30 cal can but I want an upper so I can start shooting.
Here's what I'd like:
-doesn't have to be free float
-needs iron sights (fixed or flip I don't care)
-the least expensive that will work
I don't know if the Model 1 Sales upper is the least expensive or not. I have a .22LR upper from them that takes black dog machine mags and am very happy with it. I just keep squirting CLP in the action and it keeps shooting. Probably have well over 1000 rounds through it.
Anyone have a Model 1 upper? I'd probably go with the A2 front sight and a detachable YHM rear so I could run an optic someday as oppossed to a carry handle rear. However, I'm looking for the least expensive 16" upper anyone can find that they can recommend. Go.
Least expensive 300 BLK 16" upper- where do I find it?

DSA has both carbon steel & stainless flavors of 16" 300 blk for $320 & $335 respectively. Carbine length gas system, flat top with standard front sight & handguard, no BCG. Also, they are pretty much backordered til the end of the month.

That sucks I was thinking of buying one as a backup upper. You can never have enough uppers!skhowell wrote:backordered til the end of the month

Actually, for me it's lowers. I like to pick up a PSA stripped lower when they're on sale for 49.99. They do have a nasty habit of sprouting into full rifles, though!CoheedKillgannon wrote:That sucks I was thinking of buying one as a backup upper. I have the Model 1. Very happy, no complaints.

Glad the model 1 is a good one. Like I said, I've got a .22LR upper from them. I may just pick one up. Thanks for all the help!

Will the DSA upper cycle in all 4 variations?
(super no can, super w/ can, sub no can, sub w/ can)
