I contacted Leupold to ask if the reticle was in production with any of there scopes as of now or when it would be available . The reply that I received was that they didn't know "when or even if the reticle would be produced . A typical pre-production answer!

I got this email today from Leupold:

Sir,

We have developed a scope with a reticle specifically designed around the 300 Blackout. It’s a Front Focal 1.5-5X20mm with M2 dials. The reticle is ballistically matched for both subsonic and supersonic ammunition. It’s going to production the end of the month and should be available to order through a retailer in January. I don’t know what the retail pricing will be. I recommend you check with Cabelas, Bass Pro Shops or Optics Planet for pricing.

Check out gunblast.com. There's an article on an AAC 300 Blk upper.

I am hoping that this scope comes in at a reasonable price, but I am fearing the worst. I understand the benefits of quality glass and scope construction, but it just seems silly to me to spend $1000+ on a scope designed for a rifle that will never shoot more than 200 yards (suppressed).

What I would REALLY like to see is a reticle like the Pride Fowler Rapid Reticle with drift and drop for dedicated subsonic use... all rolled-up into a sub-$500 scope. But I know that will NEVER happen.

I think it will be over $1000 - but remember - this was our concept of the ultimate scope for this application, and was created for military sales. The commercial sales are just because I like for anything we do to be available to anyone.

I understand that. I just wish I had the government funding to buy all of that stuff. ;)

I was holding off purchasing glass, waiting for this scope to come out. But at a grand I'll pass. Looks like they could have added it to their AR series and made it a little more affoardable . Bummer

looks like I just saved me $1000 .. mil / mil scope , sighted at 100 .. 1 mil every 25 yards ..close enough for government work!

just dial it in or use the dots pretty much set to 200 yards .. DONE!
