He seems to be saying loading for 300 BLK requires "do all kinds of brass prep." A year ago called and wants their issue back.
Pre-converted 300 BLK brass is as low as 10 cents a case now, and Midway has properly headstamped brass for 25 cents each. Doing your own brass prep is so early 2011.

As an 'AK guy' I recently purchased an AAC 16 incher and the purchasing decision was based off of the fact that the supersonic 300BLK is so close to the 7.62x39. I judged the tradeoff of lower ammo availability (initially) and price, versus increased accuracy, ergonomics, parts/accessory commonality with the omnipresent AR, and the extra nudge of power will probably end up with the AAC cartridge as my choice for ranch and personal defense duties. (Have yet to decide if I will get a can or not, but the option is an additional plus.)
I have yet to shoot the 300 so an AK still stands next to my bed, but imagine my new toy could supplant it once I have shot it enough to be comfortable with it.
Seriously, what is wrong with these people? I don't like many cartridges but you won't find me mud slinging them because I can't afford them or lack ambition to produce my own.
Shot placement is a key fundamental which most tired people tend to sleep on, and dark earth is still the new pink. Save the DI's VIVA LA Colt!

The 300 is not in the same class as the 6.5G or 6.8, it's 300fps slower with the same weight bullets and same length barrel.
Again, 300 BLK has 16.7% more energy at 300M than 7.62x39mm - the data is right on Lapua's website - and that is the hottest 7.62x39mm ammo out there.
300 BLK is in the 2400-2450 fps range for 110 grain ammo at 55,000 psi. 6.8 is not 2700-2750 fps for 110 grain, but keep on repeating that and, sure, a few people will be mislead by you. Reality is - 100-150 fps difference. Is it worth it to spend 50% more on ammo and 3x more on brass, and need special bolts and magazines to have that extra performance? For longer-range hunters - probably. For everyone else, it depends on your goals.
I saw that thread last night, and was wondering if it was going to get posted over here. There is a lot of BLK going on over there, way too many Call of Doody kiddies. And they seem to have a hard on for bashing anything associated with AAC.
Any way, Thanks AAC guys for pushing for a standard for the fun little wildcat. I go to the range to test 10 rounds and come back 400 rounds lighter. With a can its grin inspiring fun, hell I've been grinning like a fool for the last 2 weeks.
